Common problems of farmers fermenting organic fertilizers

Time:2020-12-17 Click:1473

Common problem with organic fertilizer fermentation:

Material pile does not heat up or heats up slowly: The pile does not heat up or heats up slowly.

Possible reasons and solutions:

1. High moisture content of raw materials: Mix materials, add dry auxiliary materials to adjust the moisture content, and stir before fermentation.

. 2. If the moisture content of the raw materials is too low, add water or wet materials according to the humidity of the materials to maintain the moisture content at least 45% -55%. 3. If the nitrogen content of the fermentation materials is insufficient, add ammonium sulfate with high nitrogen content to the materials to maintain a carbon nitrogen ratio of 30:1 4. The fermentation material pile is too small or the weather is too cold: pile up the pile high and add easily degradable substances such as corn straw 5. If the pH value of the fermentation material is too low: When the pH value is less than 5.5, lime or plant ash can be added and stirred evenly to adjust the acidity and alkalinity of the fermentation pile

Common problem 2 in organic fertilizer fermentation:

The temperature of the fermentation material pile is too high: during the fermentation process, the temperature of the pile is greater than 60 ° C

Possible causes and solutions:

1. Poor air permeability of fermentation material pile: Regularly flip the material pile to increase its air permeability.

2. The volume of the fermentation pile is too large: reduce the size of the fermentation pile

Common problem three in organic fertilizer fermentation:

There is an odor in the fermentation pile: there is a continuous odor emitting from the pile.

Possible causes and solutions:

1. High ammonia content in fermentation products (C/N less than 30): Use biological deodorants for disinfection and deodorization, and add high carbon substances such as crop straw, peanut shells, rice husks, etc 2. High pH value of fermentation products: Adding acidic substances (calcium phosphate) to the fermentation products reduces the pH value and reduces the use of alkaline substances such as lime 3. Uneven airflow in the fermentation pile: The materials should be remixed and the original material ratio should be adjusted for improvement 4. Material stacking is too dense: The materials should be remixed and large particle materials should be added to enhance the air permeability of the material stack 5. Insufficient oxygen content in the material pile creates an anaerobic environment: Regular flipping to increase the oxygen content in the material pile

Common problems with organic fertilizer fermentation 4

Mosquito breeding in fermentation piles: There are mosquitoes and flies breeding inside the fermentation piles.

Possible causes and solutions:

1. Raw materials are stored for too long before fermentation: quickly process the raw materials, spray probiotic deodorants on the surface to reduce odor and mosquitoes.

2. Fresh feces cover the surface of the pile to breed mosquitoes and flies: flip the pile every 4-7 days and cover a 6cm compost layer on the surface of the static pile

Common problem five in organic fertilizer fermentation:

During the fermentation process, material clumping: there are large clumps of material clumping in the fermentation pile.

Possible reasons and solutions:

Uneven mixing of fermentation materials or insufficient flipping: improve the original mixing method.

Uneven or insufficient airflow: sorting or crushing compost, improving air distribution

1. Raw materials contain large blocks and non degradable or slowly degradable materials: Before fermentation, the raw materials are sorted, crushed, and sorted before feeding.

2. Incomplete or incomplete fermentation: Improve fermentation conditions or extend fermentation time appropriately
